Rant entry for 11/6/2001 --- RE: Heterosexual + GBLT = GBHLT

the exclusion of heterosexuals from GBLT is simply that one doesn't have to search just to find a heterosexual. In a sense, we're outcasts... you're often assumed to be heterosexual especially while growing up until proven otherwise. (which I would go into great detail over peception of effeminate and butch, masculine and feminine, pink and blue, and other roles, but I'll save that for another post.) We have centuries of oppression, denial, and people altering the facts of history to turn us into "evil" and nazis. The exclusion of heterosexuals from the abbreviation isn't entirely to say that all heterosexuals are out to burn us at the stake, it's simply to be a lion in a herd of elephants is as much an outcast and perceived victim of an assumed adversary as a lone elephant in a pride of lions. It becomes a segretation of choice, to be with our people, to be with our pride and packs, to have our own unity with people who suffer similiar plights, trials and tribulations. Like why one may choose to date only other people who are hiv poz or those who are not. Fear and Comfortability. I often use queer to describe myself as well as a few of my heterosexual leaning friends as it does tend to embrace the outcasts of the outcasts more, the anti-label and the label whores. But being queer for myself is erasing the lines between gender, race, sexuality.. perceived notions of assumptions or taking an assumption to the extreme, the embracing of stereotypes with slight twist. The liberal, tyed dyed christians and the executive pagans. I do believe however that it is more of a liberal state of being outside the realm of conservative politics, although it's not always political. and do I sound like I'm in the middle of a sustiva meets marinol over a 3litre bottle of mountain dew and a couple tabs of nodoze flashback or is it just me?
